Mobile web company launches new applications

A new set of applications has been launched by mobile web company fring.

Users of the fring mobile internet service and community can now take advantage of mobile access to social networks such as Facebook and Google’s Orkut.

In addition, mobile owners can access videos via mobile video search and streaming service VTap and receive alerts for incoming emails into Gmail accounts via their handsets.

The add-ons are free to use and add to fring’s existing suite of services, including free calls, mobile chat and file transfer. Third-party developers can make applications for fring under the fringAPI.

"We look forward to rolling out new fringAdd-ons developed by third parties and independent developers to enrich the experience even further as soon as they become available," commented Avi Shechter, co-founder and chief executive of fring.

Last month, the company launched fring 3.35 for the Symbian 9 operating system.
