Social network launched for graphic designers

A software company has launched a social media experiment in a bid to bypass the challenges of search engine optimisation (SEO) and market its products through an industry network.
Quark has targeted its newly-launched social network at graphic designers in a bid to raise awareness of its products.
Promoting itself through a Facebook application, the Ilovedesign.com network will allow visitors to exhibit their own work and rate the work of others, while establishing profiles and entering product-related discussions.
Company marketing director Gavin Drake said: "We believe we have created a site that will genuinely inspire and excite designers.
"There are so many social sites at the moment, but none that are specifically aimed at designers and enable them to showcase their work."
The site looks to harness the strength of social networks in sparking brand-related user content and providing viral marketing perks to companies.
