SMEs realising marketing benefits
Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the UK are increasingly realising the benefits of internet marketing, it has been claimed.
Linus Gregoriadis, of e-consultancy, says that local search is becoming ever more popular, and through using seo optimisation techniques, SMEs are gaining outstanding opportunities to promote their services and products.
"Google is taking local search very seriously and websites such as Yell.com give companies an excellent opportunity to market themselves over the internet," he said.
"No matter what the sector, companies are missing a trick if they don’t have any kind of online marketing capabilities."
Recent research from ZenithOptimedia revealed that online advertising should grow by 85 per cent over the period from 2006 to 2009.
"The main thing is to ensure that there is an integrated approach to different types of marketing," Mr Gregoriadis went on.
"It’s absolutely crucial to understand your audience. This should be treated as an on-going process so that segmentation and targeting get better all the time."
