Brits keen on online advertising
Over 50 per cent of UK internet users believe that companies should market and advertise their products online, using techniques such as paid search and search market analysis, a new report states.
A survey from Shiny Red revealed that close to half of UK surfers say that their awareness of a brand is increased if they see information about it on the web - while a further 33 per cent were more likely to visit a company site after spotting online publicity relating to it.
There are online marketing techniques that are not well received however.
Around two-thirds of respondents said that a website using fake bloggers was likely to damage their opinion of a site - while close to 50 per cent claimed that the use of non-regularly updated corporate blogs were an un unappealing feature.
Media will increasingly be based on the internet, Shiny Red claims - with consumers expected to increase the amount of time they spend online by about a third, while use of newspapers, magazines and TV will drop by around 20 per cent, the study says.
